Corporate social responsibility - what does it mean for us?

In our core business, we help ensure that the welfare model in Norway works in practice.

Reporting taxes and duties, as well as ensuring value creation and secure jobs for our customers. It’s a responsibility and mandate we have, and manage well.

Taking social responsibility is something more. It is making a voluntary contribution. It’s putting in more effort and making a conscious choice of direction.

Contributing more to climate and the environment was a natural choice for us at Tandem. First and foremost because this is the biggest challenge we, as part of a global community, face.

We don’t have a very large climate footprint at Tandem, but this is an area we feel we can actually contribute to – both inside and outside our walls.

Climate and environmental policy in Tandem

At Tandem, we recognize that both as a company and as individuals we impact the environment.

The company’s mission states: “Through our work, we will inspire customers to act ethically, be environmentally conscious and create safe workplaces for their employees. Tandem will contribute to the development of a sustainable society.”

For Tandem, environmental work is a natural part of taking an active social responsibility. The company works long-term to prevent negative environmental impact and protect the environment. The ambition is to influence the outside world to improve environmental performance by setting requirements for business partners and suppliers, and to offer advice and solutions to customers that reduce the climate footprint. Environmental work is an integral part of our daily operations.

Tandem will achieve its climate goals and make decisions based on the following principles:

We will strengthen competence, ownership and culture on circular economy in our business. We will include circular principles in the company’s sustainability and climate strategies, set targets that support this and report on our work and results.

We will seek solutions for the performance of our work tasks that reduce resource use to a minimum. We look for opportunities to share solutions and meet our needs through services and sharing rather than owning ourselves.

We will maintain, repair and creatively renovate and reuse our assets (interiors, machinery, equipment, etc.) to maximize their lifetime and the utilization of the resources in these assets.

In purchasing processes, we will request life cycle information, waste volumes and pollution as well as future targets for this. We will prioritize purchasing goods and services based on product duration, quality, the proportion of reusable materials, and opportunities for new applications after use.

We will support dialogue and initiatives with the authorities, our customers and other stakeholders so that we constantly find better incentives, framework conditions and schemes that strengthen the circular economy.
